The People of Gertragia

The phoenix nodded, watching as the room changed. What the heck was a TV? Seriously, she was too old fashioned. Anriah sighed, allowing her body to glow once more. Her form shifted back into that of the multicolored bird. She couldn't sleep well in her human form, so she prefferred her true form better. The Phoenix flapped her wings, sending herself into the air. Once airborn, she flew over to the couch, perching herself on the couch's arm.

The bird fairy tilted her head, blinking a few times. Humans were so strange these days... This one could pretty much read her mind! Of course, the human species seems to be gaining extraordinary powers, so she wasn't too surprised by this. Anriah just allowed a soft rumble form in throat in responce. She closed her eyes, but she didn't go to sleep just yet. No, it would take her an hour or two, like it always does.

The sound of gunfire caused the large bird's eyes to shoot open and her head to turn toward the door. Great. Just was she needed--more guns. The Phoenix let out an irritated huff of air and allowed herself to drop from the couch, sharp claws clicking on the ground. If he wanted her to help, then she would. There was still some leftover fire in her.

Sending a glance at the television screen, a few small embers flew out of her beak as she opened it. There was no use just standing around. Anriah made her way over to the area in which they had entered the room, looking kind of like one of those smaller birds that walked instead of hopped. Sending an expectant look over at the human, she ruffled her multicolored feathers, ready to help in any way she could. AKA--burn the place to the ground. Or, at least, cause a few beings to stop, drop, and roll.

She had never liked watching the battles--er, wars--that the humans had back on Earth. The Romans fought a lot, and even the Greeks and Tsars did. Bloodshed was something shew as use to, however, since she actually did watch the wars held there. However, she barely paid even an ounce of attention toward any wars that used actual guns and other weapons like that. Maybe she should have, even if alien weapons were much different than what use to be back on earth.

The Phoenix scoffed at the sight. It was truly pathetic how much these different beings had to fight. So much death and bloodshed, and for what? A piece of land? Wealth? Pride? What was faught for never actually was of equal value to that of a single to a million souls lost on the battle field. Alchemy could teach these people a thing or two, even if it was only speaking about human kind. It still applies to all living creatures. Anriah let out a sigh, ruffling her feathers as she spread her wings apart, lifting herself into the air with a swift movement.

She rose higher and higher, not even flinching as ammunition of all kinds flew past her. The noise was rather annoying, and it made her head ache just from a few simple gunshots. She really wasn't one for battles in enclosed areas. The ones faught out in the vast, open landscape were much more bareable. The bird opened her beak, and a loud clicking emitted from what seemed like her throat. Within seconds, a stream of flames shot out from her mouth, thickening the farther away it got from the Phoenix. Unlike the fire from earlier, this one was blue in color, aka some of the hottest fire out there. Heck, her flames could even rival that of an O-type star when she was in the mood.

The blue fire shot out from her beak in a continuous stream, melting any metal or plastic in its path and setting ablaze anything it touched. Well, the room would probably be scorched afterward, but it could be repaired. Maybe.

As the blue flames died down to only flickering remains of what once was clothing and flesh, the phoenix began to glow. Her whole form shifted--long, feathery wings became thin, pale arms. The beak shrunk down and disappeared, leaving a human nose and mouth in its place. Pencil thin legs grew longer and thicker, the rough, yellowish skin softening and paling. All the feathers were replaced by pale skin and the outfit in which the girl had been wearing earlier. Anriah took in a deep breath, exhaling the smoke that had tried to occupy her lungs.

Fire red eyes blinked, locking on the human who was entering the elevator. Great, more technology. Picking her way around the debree with grace and ease, the faerie hummed to herself, stepping into the elevator. Once the doors opened once more, she allowed Neon to exit first and then followed him. She only took two steps out before pausing. Her eyes swept across the new room. It looked like an ordinary room, but she was expecting some random thing to pop out of the wall. Maybe she should start Googling a list of all the latest technology and such to research. Hey, at least she knew what Google was. But, was Google still working? She had never touched a computer in her life, only watching what a man who had captured her long ago was doing. Did she ever mention that she absolutely hated bird cages? Sure, she could just melt through the bars, but the man had put a shock collar around her neck. Shock collars, another thing she hated. Geh, she's lived for far too long for far too many lives.

Thankfully, she was brought out of her hate-of-pet-'torture'-devices thoughts by what Neon had said. Bandgages... In the bathroom? Tilting her head to the side like most birds do, her eyes darted around, locking on a door that most likely led to the bathroom. With a slight hop in her step (she's too use to walking around in her phoenix form), the red haired girl made her way over to the bathroom, disappearing inside and reappearing with the bandages in hand. She had also found some disinfectant spray and brought that, too, but she didn't know if it would actually work. She was use to bursting into flames from serious injuries or using her tears to heal. Phoenix tears--gotta love them. Anriah quickly made her way over to Neon, handing out the requested items. "Do you get attacked this often?" A simple question, and most birds were generally curious creatures.

The girl watched as the human applied the spray and bandages to the wound. She inwardly cringed, only imagining how painful that must really be. Remember--wounds either lead to combustion or healing tears for her. She wouldn't know the pain of long-term injuries. Her eyes widened as she was pulled down and into a situation she would have rather just avoided all together. Oh, she knew what was coming, and she did not like it. She instinctively tensed, listening to the human in fear. No, no, no, no! As he leaned in, the phoenix instantly placed her hand in front of her mouth, blocking the kiss.

Within a few moments, she was up on her feet, backing away from the couch, shaking her head, flame eyes wide. Didn't humans know anything about her kind?! Of course they wouldn't--'Fairy Tales' were really only taken into thought centuries ago. Fear still aparent in her eyes, Anriah slowly removed her hand from her mouth so she could speak. "Don't you humans know what happens if you kiss a faerie? You gain powers--some small, some large and uncontrolable, depending on the faerie." Humans seemed to already have powers, but we're talking powers 'blessed' by a faerie, which can often times be stronger than the usual power. Not to mention a kiss for a faerie is equal to a human getting married for life... She left that part out, completely forgetting that the human she stood before could read minds.
