Sandbox Mode [OPEN] 61335

A beach vacation after all of the crap that Game had been through was like allowing him a glimpse into heaven. It felt so good to just soak in the rays of the sun for once. In Sigma, he had felt like he was standing in a permanent freezer, his tan had been reduced to milky paste that barely passed for skin. And now, as he lay on a floral print towel, staring out at the sea. White foam rolled onto the shore, lapping at the sand like a starved animal. Not a cloud in the sky, and a bright sun beating down on him. He didn't know much about the UV radiation emanating from it, and didn't care much. Sun tan lotion was a precaution he had completely forgotten in his haste to go on this once in a life time getaway. Though, it wasn't as if he had a choice, his mental health was at stake. Besides, it was complementary for any human who wanted to go, to come along.

Most of the humans had been taken to an island called, Prism Island. Really, it was more like one huge hunk of land smack dab in the ocean. It was located in one of the Fandors, normally rented out by rich entrepreneurs, needing a getaway from fast paced lives. Now, it was his too explore. His first day was just as he would like it, sleeping on the beach. For once in his life he felt at peace, he had woken up earlier than the other humans, hiked down mountains topped on mountains to get down on this glorious beach. The scenery was all he needed to be peaceful here. The sand was white as snow, yet burning like coals. The sun smiling down at him, as if he were the only person in the universe today. Wouldn't that be a glorious thought, no one else to worry about anymore, just R&R. All he needed was hot cabana girls bringing him lemonade and fanning him down.

The sea was a deep cerulean, but was so clean that you could see the fish swimming underneath the crystalline surface. He imagined that it was a cool and refreshing experience to dive head first into it. The more courageous of the humans had a huge cliff to dive from, he could see it just to his right, though it was cloaked in green foliage. Though, one thing kept nagging Game's mind... How had he got here? He didn't remember the flight, and usually he did remember getting on spaceships. He could actually feel them, and he didn't remember feeling anything mechanical. He wondered if the other humans had a recollection as to how they got to this magnificent place. He brushed the thought away, knowing that if someone could hear his thoughts they'd call him a buzzkill. He was literally in paradise.

Prism Island; the perfect getaway. It was just what Kaira needed to get away from all the stress - death and destruction wasn't exactly easy on the mind. So they'd been sent off to one of the Fandors, a luxurious planet. Couldn't we have been sent here from the start? The brunette sighed as she sat on a lavender-and-brown towel on the beach, shaded from the almost-overbearing sun by a small white umbrella.

Before this, Kaira had only gone to a beach once, with her dad. She was about three years old at the time, so she didn't remember anything but water. And lots of it. And now it was before her in all its glory. This beach was far more beautiful than the one she'd seen. In fact, it was nothing compared to this island. Nothing compared to the ones she'd seen advertised on the small, boxy television so many times.

So, with the help of her power, she'd fashioned herself a swimsuit that she'd seen one of the models on the commercials wear, a straw hat, and she was set. But now that she was here, what could she do but relax? She didn't know how to swim, never mind dive. She couldn't paddle a boat. So relax she would. Hey, it really wasn't such a bad deal!

--

The first thing Nessa did when she saw the wide open space was make a dash for the water, the burning white sand propelling her forward. When she reached the cool blue water, she didn't stop to let the foamy waves lap and cool down her feet. She just dove right in, like she always did when she went to a beach. The water was refreshing - not freezing, but not a hot tub. It was... perfect. Nessa brushed her hair out of her face, standing up. All the humans deserved this break.

Ivory white sand with clear cerulean seas. This was the perfect beach. In fact, so perfect, that Lobo didn't quite believe that she wasn't on earth. Surely only such beauty could be found on her home planet? Wrong. Wherever she was, be it Prism Island or heaven she was running. Sprinting in fact down the beach, if she went any slower the sand would burn at the soles of her feet. The beach had been her favorite place during her time on earth. She came every day that she could, but she always had to come alone. Her mother was always busy. A shadow flickered in Lobo's mind. She hadn't known her mother well, if at all. In She dropped her towel on the sand near Game and dove towards the water. It had been ages since she'd smelled ocean air, or even felt a breeze through her hair.

She dove into the water as if it would disappear soon. In a way it would. After awhile the humans would be forced to go back from wherever they came. But how did they even get here? She didn't let it bother her. Suddenly the sound of the surf lapping at the shore were gone; she was underwater. Her eyes were open, and it didn't burn. Her hair floated freely about and strange alien fish darted here and there. She smiled and surfaced. She pulled her hair back and turned to shore. "Come on in Game, the water's great!"

Thomas grinned widely. He kept his face to the sky and onto his ultimate goal: The top of the cliff. A jagged, rocky, and water-tortured ledge, perfect for the desires of beach-goers, whether this seemingly lost landscape was meant for it or not. Thomas braced his hands and gripped his toes on the wet rock. He glanced quickly for a new grip a foothold, and upon finding them, he went up yet another step. He had never actively rock climbed, or even tried it, but one other time. As a novice in his field, he thought he did quite well, seeing as he only had a quarter of a way to go and he hadn't killed himself yet.

Thomas had already once jumped down this massive rock face, but he was up for it a second time. He was the type who liked the good rush of adrenaline every now and again. Today was no exception. He'd decided that it would be more fun to climb his way back to the top, if not a little more rewarding. Besides, if he went the traditional way he'd have to crawl out the water and look for the old hill to run up and get sand and dirt in between his toes. It was a feeling he didn't like too much, and while he could avoid it, he definitely would.

Getting on this island was a lucky break. The place was an awesome sight to the eyes, and no doubt would cost a large chunk of a man's wallet just to get a day in. Low and behold, they got in for free! Free for a place like this! That, or someone else paid for it. He wondered only slightly just who might have. He knew for certain it wasn't him. He didn't have a penny in his pocket and if he ever had at one point, then he never took it out. He didn't think about the matter long. If it wasn't common knowledge then they must have wanted to be discrete. And who was he to deny that? He was just happy to be here right now. It was much different than the atmosphere of Weavon in many ways. The most significant was the air. In Weavon it was dusty and burned when it entered his throat, here, it was so much more pleasant, so much clearer. He'd gotten so used to the clouded air that as soon as he'd stepped into a new environment he couldn't stop coughing out the pollution and every felt restrained. Eventually, he adjusted.

While often he would wonder if his life was less hectic when he was stranded on Weavon, despite the constant dangers, but he'd always shrug the question away and be happy that he had an adventure to consume his time. The days never seemed to be boring. Now, things were taking a more uplifting course, but he had to admit that his first steps here seemed a little weird. It was almost too calm for him. There was almost always a plan going on somewhere and now there was nothing. However, he found piece with it. All he had to do was familiarize himself with the term "vacation."

-----

Wha...? Cezar opened his sleep clouded eyes. He was greeted first by the tinted image of the shading umbrella over him and the clear blue sky. The cozy warmth of the area coxed him into closing his eyes again, smiling at the overall comfortableness. His bed on the beach was just a long blue beach towel to keep the sand out of his hair and from burning his body. The ground had gotten quite hot in the infinite summer of Fandor Six as the ground usually would and while there was a shield from the burn, it gave the perfect sensation of warmth. It was hard not for him to fall asleep. Even now he could feel himself drifting off and made no effort to stop it. Unfortunately, he felt a prodding on his side and turned his head, lifting the sunglasses over his eyes and squinting at the newly defined image.

It was Xeda, dressed in a purple halter-top bikini with underwear-coverage bottoms that resembled shorts. Her hair lay untied, shimmering in a vibrant black and supporting the leopard-spotted sunglasses she rested on her head. She looked down at him with a raised eyebrow and a bottle of sunscreen in her hand that, by the smell of it, she'd already applied.

"You're going to sleep your vacation away?" She said in the tone of a teenager at the beach. "If so, you're breaking records." Cezar smiled, letting his sunglasses drop down on his face and laughed. It did seem kind of absurd. One break for a little bit and he was using it to snooze. Ah, but isn't that what a vacation is for? Sitting around and doing nothing? Mm, besides the activity here and there. He probably would regret not getting up a saddle bagging out into the water in the future, but right now he was fine with it.

"I'm sorry, Xeda," he said, laughs still strewn in his voice, "how would you like me to mend this?" She smiled at him and shrugged. "Well if you don't know, what's the problem then?" Xeda frowned and then opened her mouth to say something, but she closed it again and a pondering look came over her. "Well, while you think about it, I think I'll sleep some more. It's a good way to waste time." Cezar let his eyes fall again, a smile coming across his countenance when he heard the sound of Xeda's chuckles.

"Why not go swimming? The water seemed nice. And I'm sure it'll wake you up." Mm. It probably would keep his eyes open. He yawned, nodding some. It sounded like a good idea.

"Sure. I might need some sunscreen, though." Xeda eyed him suspiciously and nodded her head. She grabbed a hair-tie and put up her hair. She stood up and looked down at him, hands on her hips.

"Don't disappoint me now, Cezar."
"Mhm."
"You better be out there boy." He laughed again as he heard her walk off. He'd get the sunscreen... in a moment. But as he promised himself he already found himself in the clutches a sleep.

----

There! Finally! With his final pull Thomas heaved himself up and after his short toil, he got a look at the top of the cliff from a new view. His grin became ear-to-ear. He'd finally made it! He braced his toes and pulled himself up to the top of the cliff with a good amount of effort. He crawled farther into the land and then rolled onto his back, his face to the sun and sky and his legs hanging off the edge. It was impossible for the smile on his face to go away. it felt like it was there permanently now.

He couldn't control the laugh that come from his lungs either. He'd made it up the cliff, and within a reasonable time. He was pretty proud of himself right now and the sheer awesomeness of the task was still stuck in his mind. How high was this thing? Oh, who cared, he was in it now. His back felt warm on the dry rock that had been baking in the sun. He lifted his hands and examined his palms. They were colored a bright red from the heat and raw from the climb. When he flexed his palms they stung slightly from being scraped and pierced by rocks and the occasional stab from thorny vines. The bottom of his feet were in the same condition. Fantastic.

Thomas pulled himself up, straddling the thin edge of the cliff. He looked down at the clear-blue waters that attacked the edge with silent fury. An epic sight indeed. Well, time for what he was really up here for. Thomas stood up and jogged farther back, giving himself good room to run. Ten feet back he put himself into a racing stance, glaring at his final exit. He was ready for this.

The tramping of feet on sand awoke Game from his half-in/half-out sleep. People. Just great, he'd have to relocate his sleeping spot, yet again. Now he knew what those wave obsessed surfers felt like when people took their spots. Tilted his head back so that he could see the upside down girls sprinting toward him. Was he daydreaming? It was a strong possibility, and this was a dream he didn't want too wake up from. Never had he imagined the sweet girl he knew as Kaira, the one who had carted a stuffed bunny around way into her teenager years, would wear something so revealing. He had never actually thought of her as anything but a little sister, not someone that you could think of in 'that way'. But he didn't have to think of these new budding emotions for long, because his attention was ripped away when a towel sank over his eyes. He rolled onto his stomach, irritably flinging the clothe off of him, too catch a glimpse of Lobo sprinting into the water.

He sat up, his hair flopping back down over his eyes. He could hear her voice calling to him, and for a moment, he almost wanted to stand up. But then thought better of it, relaxing for him was not playing with a bunch of girls in skimpy swimsuits... It sounded really stupid in his head, and he could only imagine what someone would think if they knew what he was thinking- for about the second time that day -Game stood up slowly. His legs feeling like deadened stumps as he stumbled forward. Giving up sleep to prance around in the water like a fool with a plethora of eligible girls. Yep, he definitely had his priorities in order, as he dashed into the water. His feet slapping against the smooth surf sending up a dazzling display of the crystal liquid. It felt too good to be true. He last time he had ever even touched water felt like centuries ago. The last time he had ever tried to swim was much farther away. In fact, he didn't remember whether or not he actually learned how to swim.

Something moved through the jungle with fast speeds. The human landed on the trunk of a tree but didn’t stop there. She leapt forward and grabbed a hold of a thick vine that swung with her motion. At the best point of the swing she let go and flew forward. Right off the cliff. “Woah!” Alice shouted, not at being swung over a cliff, but at the beautiful beach. She turned over and over in the air until she was angled diagonally, her head towards the water. She then stopped spinning and did several front flips. She finally straightened out, pointing exactly 90 degrees to the water’s surface, and put her arms to a point above her head. She split the water and slid into the warm water with hardly a splash to show her entrance. She burst to the surface several yards away laughing and pushing her wet hair out of her face. She took a deep breath and dove back beneath the surface and swam rapidly towards the other human in the water. She popped up next to the spazzing Nessa and Game and gave them a big splash. She smiled at them before diving backwards into the water. She reappeared not too far away and floated on her back in the pretty blue water, playing with the sash on her purple and magenta swimsuit. She’d spend some time in the water for a bit before building an epic sandcastle. She closed her golden eyes and let the sun’s rays give her some good ol’ vitamin D.

Ignoring the commotion going on, Kaira reached into her bag and pulled out her sketchpad and a pencil. She wanted to remember this moment, and something that let it engrave itself into her mind was drawing it. She didn't know where to start; the place was so ethereal that no picture or painting could ever capture its true essence. Sighing, she put away the pad of paper with only thin lines on it, and sat up straighter on her towel. She decided not to make anything more, since using her power also used up her energy and energy was something she'd prefer to be conserved while on this break.

She watched as everyone played in the water, fingertips playing with the hem of her Alice blue sarong. It was lonely on the beach all by herself, this she noted as her wist-filled violet eyes traveled over the joyful faces of everyone splashing in the crystal blue water. With a great effort, she tore her eyes away and stared at the calling, exotically-coloured birds overhead, chasing one another as they soared through the wispy clouds. If only she could swim like they could fly.

To Dostaria the wildlife on this extrodinary beach was more fascinating that the water. Not far away from the other humans there were tidal pools filled with all sorts brightly colored underwater flora and fauna. She lay on her belly near the surface of one and looked down into it. Swimming wasn't her forte, in fact just about the only thing she could do was a dog-paddle. She'd rather not have to be rescued by one of the other humans. And she didn't have a swim suit, which was a problem as well. In Ireland it had always been too cold to swim, and the only water around was either the usually violent ocean or the stagnant lake in the back of her manor. The other humans were almost strangers to her, as soon as she'd arrived on Sigma about half of them were taken to Varsia, then the Evoknights had attacked and then she went to Weavon. The only ones she'd met were Caleb, Xeda, Cody and Thomas, and she didn't see any of them here. Except for Xeda, but she was with Cezar and probably didn't want to be bothered. If only Dostaria were more boiserous, she could go make some friends instead of watching the fish. She sighed and flopped onto her back. Something else was at the back of her mind, something besides her lack of a social life. She didn't really remember arriving here. No boarding of a ship, no flight, no nothing.

She pushed the thought away. "I need to go do something," she muttered to herself. I won't be known as the human who spent her vacation worrying. But what could she do? Go exploring, she loved to explore. But who with?

Kenji paddled slowly out to sea. He was lying flat on his stomach on a surfboard, one just like the board he had owned on Earth. This place was the exact definition of paradise. Emerald green plants and an endless azure ocean was the perfect getaway place from Weavon. And, just to make things perfect, Even Lobo was here...somewhere. He looked back toward the white sandy beach. There were little figures on it and in the water, but they were too far away to be recognized. Kenji decided he was far enough away and paddled his board around until he was facing the beach. Now he just needed to wait for a nice, big wave.

He wiped some hair out of his eyes and immediately almost tipped his board over. He looked like any normal 'surfer dude'; long blonde hair, red shorts with designs on them, and a charcoal grey surfboard with art that made surfing tricks look all the more cool. Kenji breathed in the crisp paradiso air. Every breath made him feel warm inside, while the sun cooked him on the outside. He hadn't put on any sunscreen, but then again, he didn't need it. Not while he was absorbing the sun's energy.

Suddenly, Kenji felt his surfboard lurch slightly forwards and upwards. This was the one. The perfect wave. Kenji quickly started paddling forward. As the bluish wave grew nearer and nearer to the coastline, it grew larger and larger. Kenji was carried upward, and soon he was several feet in the air. But the crest of the wave was still higher. He leaned forward, intent on keeping his balance and getting to the top. The wave's momentum carried him ever higher, and spray kept on whipping into his eyes. Kenji instinctively narrowed his eyes. The roar of the wave was deafening, as if emanating from a huge monster that never ran out of breath. But the spray soon stopped and roar died down into a growl. Kenji fully opened his eyes. He was at the very top of the wave, riding it like some sea god. In the back of his head, he knew that if he fell right now, he would die. But he was completely calm. Nothing could go wrong this day. Nothing.

Kenji moved slowly to the very edge of the board, until the tips of his toes were hanging off. He stood there for what seemed like an eternity, basking in the sun. It felt like he was king of the world. A smile spread across his face. But it was gone after just few seconds. The coast was growing closer, and fast. Kenji stepped backwards a little and shifted his weight forward. The surfboard tipped and began to fall over the crest. The board slowly slid over the edge, and when the board was about halfway over, Kenji quickly shifted his weight again to avoid being killed. He executed his move perfectly, and his swiveled the board under the crest and into the center of the wave. He was pretty much back where he had started, but with more momentum. Kenji swiveled his board perpendicular to the wave and rode the whole length of the wave, from one side to the other. The huge roaring was back in his ears, but the scene was too enjoyable for Kenji to notice. He was the only person in the world, inside a whirling tunnel of water. He flew out the other side of the wave just as it broke, making a large crashing sound an then turning into just another wave as it went to the shore. Kenji turned his board again, away from a huge rock face and toward the coast. The water was so calm here, the surroundings so serene. The air was alive with the sounds of chirping birds. He stood balancing on his board and surveyed his surroundings for a second, just to see if he could recognize any faces. There weren't many, but there was still Lobo. Kenji flashed her a small smile before jumping into the water. He climbed on his board again but just lied on his back, letting the sun cook him from the inside out.
