Lucas shrugged, glancing at Carter only once. The click of his gun, warned him of danger and instantly he turned his head to see Carter pointing his gun at some alien. Though, it didn't look necessarily alien, it just looked like a strange human. With elfin ears, blue pock marks and oddly colored skin. It wasn't an Evoknight, or thats what he could gather from her looks, he wasn't truly an expert on what they looked like under all that armor. "Yes, we are. Now, please. Go away." he ordered, lowering his weapon away from the female. It was useless to bother with her, the aliens could take care of themselves. It was the humans that needed the most help. He ushered his Ichzer towards him, and leaped onto the flying board that was low to the ground. "One thing though, Miss. If you had to leave a planet in a hurry, because it was being attacked by alien monsters, where would you go?" he asked... Hypothetically of course.

Caleb grabbed Dostaria's hand. "We need to get out of here..." he mouthed, watching as the steps seemed to recede, but he knew that more would be coming. The march on the city had just begun, and it was time for him to vacate the area. "I don't think I can carry you away again... We need a distraction." he begged. Not knowing exactly what power the girl wielded but hoping that it was something lethal. Something that could take down an Evoknight, a lot of Evoknights, and reunite them with the other humans. In all this chaos he had forgotten they had even existed. And he wondered where they would be headed. The Evoknights seemed to be everywhere, what place was safe here? He wasn't an expert on architecture, so most of Sigma's buildings were nonsense to him, he couldn't find his way around a corner, let alone, find humans in this mass of destruction. For all he knew they were all dead from the laser.

Xeda followed the odd alien as he went through the streets, scared and determined not to lose him. He knew where they going, right? He had to have. They should get there safe. It would be like those war movies. Only a few casualties. But there got there eventually after a couple explosions and encounters. Maybe a plane jacking or two. She held onto Bianca, hoping the girl wouldn't run away or something that three year olds do or whatever. That would suck because then someone would have to go after her. She didn't think she'd be the candidate either.

----

Che. Look. There's crap falling from the sky with goddamn invaders in it and he has to make sure these humans don't slow them the hell down while their walkin'. Sure, it was easy for the most part. They weren't that stupid. But hell, if one of 'em thought that they could run off somewhere scared... well... don't expect him to go on a rescue mission or be the hero of this theater show. Scared enough as it was. He had to pay attention to his front, back, sides, the humans, Jairus in case he got tackled, the sky, the ground. Sheesh. These things could have some kind of cloaking device and he'd just be dead.

Hoow long it would take it get out of here, he didn't know, but shoot, it wasn't going to take longer because someone decided that "safe looking" detour would be nice to cross over.

Dostaria looked at Caleb, fire dancing in her eyes. She was scared, she wanted nothing more than to rely on Caleb to get them both out of here. But she knew that it wouldn't work. He was tired, he had already saved her once. It was her turn now. Her eyes flitted between the newly arrived Evoknights and Caleb. She closed her eyes for a moment. "Caleb, run when I give the signal." Dostaria began to draw energy from her surroundings. Heat energy, light energy, whatever she could get her hands on. The area immediately around her went dark and cold. Flames were extinguished, sparks instantly died. Dostaria felt herself growing stronger, no longer tired. But the effects were only temporary. She nodded at Caleb. If here were smart he would run, if he didn't the Evoknights' fates and his could be shared. Summoning all the brashness she could, Dostaria ran in front of the Evoknights. She hoped they knew that their destroyer was a human girl, supposedly one of the weakest creatures in the galaxy. Before they had a chance to fire, Dostaria loosed the energy she had withheld from the environment in one large, concentrated blast. The Evoknights and their small ship were instantly incinerated. The only thing that remained of them was their armor. Dostaria's burst of energy had taken a lot out of her. Dizzily, she looked around for Caleb. She couldn't let herself pass out, she couldn't be weak.

Jairus weaved back and forth through wreckage. Laser sounds and explosions were becoming more frequent and closer. He started running faster. They must be close to Miralhnae by now. They have to be. But Jairus knew this route well. The halfway mark was a large slope, going downward from the apartments and to Miralhnae. They weren't even at the slope yet. "If you want to live, then run faster!" Jairus called back. He was practically sprinting now. Jairus could only hope the humans could keep up. He became relieved when he suddenly arrived at the long slope. It would be faster to run downhill. From where Jairus stood at the top of the slope, he could actually see Miralhnae and his ship, the Iroquois. The three other ships beside it made him all the more determined to get to the spaceport. When everyone had caught up, Jairus turned his head toward them. He spoke quickly. "We're almost there. There's a spaceport just down the slope, and then we can get the hell out of here." He looked back at the slope, about to run down, when he saw the glint of gold reflect in the corner of his eye. Fairly close to the top of the slope was an alley formed by two tall buildings. Jairus saw five, ten, twenty huge gold and black soldiers walk out of it and onto their path to Miralhnae. "Stop!" Jairus called out to the people around him, but it was too late.

A Chromakan, who had worked at the apartments, had already started running. The invaders instantly saw him, and a second later, an orange beam melted a fist-sized hole through it's head. "Shit, he's dead...Cosmas, get up here!" Jairus quickly crouched and backed up, trying to find some cover. He got behind what looked like a car's burnt hulk and leaned around it, aiming his rifle's crosshairs on the head of an Evoknight. It did the same. Still determined to get to his ship, Jairus quickly squeezed off three shots before trying to get back behind the car when a different Evoknight fired. Its orange laser hit Jairus on his left chest. The force of the laser blew Jairus off his feet and onto his back, and melted a crater into his triple layer of body armor. He felt a jolt of pain, and then nothing. Jairus lied on the ground, breathing heavily, and wondering if he was still alive. Aw shit. He looked up at the last second to see an UWUC A-5 Sparrowhawk fly down from the fiery skies and launch a volley of missiles at the Evoknights. The ground seemed to rock back and forth with all the explosions. Satisfied, the Sparrowhawk flew away, just to be lasered into nothing a few seconds later.

Jairus was still on his back. He rolled over and tried to push himself up, with no success. He craned his neck to see what happened to the aliens. There was pretty much nothing left from the volley of missiles. Even some of the surrounding buildings were heavily damaged. Suddenly he felt exhausted, and rested his head back on the ground. He raised his hand and felt the crater in his armor. It seemed the extra plate of armor he put on earlier had saved his life, because when Jairus looked at his hand, there wasn't any blood. He heaved a painful sigh of relief.

MOC Kurovichi frowned inside his command room. Another human had a black light. "Major Hvar, I suggest we evacuate this premisis immediately." Kuro spoke in his normal monotone voice, though it was clear the situation was a bit out of hand. "Call the Advent for emergency pickup. The ship can dock to this very floor. I have planned for emergencies like this." The Major nodded and did what he was told. Kuro watched the hologram of the city, occasionally making calls to commanders and waypoints for their ships to follow.

"Run? Where to? How far? How long? What are you going to do?" Questions that popped into his head were spouted out of his mouth in an instant. But he didn't really care much to wonder. He was already moving once Dostaria stood up. Though not very fast by his standards. He was still moving fast enough to blur through his surroundings, but not fast enough to avoid sight of the Evoknights who turned mystified towards him. Almost as soon as they did, they were vaporized by Dostaria's... Beam-cannon-thing. Whatever it was, it was awesome. It was a wonder why she wasn't on Varsia with the other superpowered humans. He zipped back to his past location beside Dostaria who seemed out of it. Great. They were out of firepower, especially since he couldn't run fast enough to get a good hit in, and even then he most likely would just break his hand. "Dostaria..." He whispered in a worried tone.

OOC: Can't post with Lucas. Lenina is in space. And Maria well... Yeah.

Knees shaking, Dostaria fought to stay standing. Everything hurt. Her arms were burnt from where the energy had escaped. She stumbled over to where Caleb stood. "I'm okay, Caleb," she lied. Any person in their right mind wouldn't believe her. Her dress was more burned than it had been before. She was doing her best to 'be strong', and she was failing. She grabbed his hand, mostly so she wouldn't fall over. "What now?" She asked in a small voice. Her burns stung, and Dostaria whimpered slightly. She had just killed five sentient beings, yet she didn't feel bad. At all. She didn't feel much of anything except for a small amount of relief. They still weren't safe yet.

PostSubject: Re: "Some say the world will end in fire. . ."   "Some say the world will end in fire. . ." - Page 2 EmptyMon Nov 15, 2010 4:24 pm

Her ocean-blue eyes widened as Jairus was thrown against a car-like thing, and Adailia instantly threw her aura out, noticing it was safely transparent this time. But it was spread very thinly. It was directly between the humans and Evoknights, creating a very finely tinted-orange bubble around them. Shots bounced off, ricocheted back and killed a few of the enemy. Her stomach squeezed, and she let out a small gasp, wrapping both arms around her chest. T-this isn't anything.... she thought, wincing. "We need to move, quickly. I can't hold them off for long," she warned through her teeth. Her power was originally only the ability to see and feel auras, the life-energy that emanated from anything alive. She was the human's expert tracker, able to find Len in the deep vacuum of space just around a month prior to this attack by searching out her aura-signature. She was adept at picking up on lies and betrayals, and had little to no physical strength that could be used in battle, unless it was hand-to-hand.

Then, a little while after their first failed attempt to save Len, Adailia had figured out on complete accident her new-found ability. She had no desire to feel so guilty about the injuries of her friends anymore, so she trained hard, throwing up shields and producing huge weapons that could pierce any armor if she willed it so. She'd been so relieved to have been a help to her friends instead of the bad-tempered burden she'd been considered before. She'd even expressed kindness to Game when he'd been injured in the second attempt at saving the silver-haired girl, something even serene humans found hard to accomplish. Adailia had finally felt.... Useful.

Now, here she was. Testing her limits to save the few humans Kargagna had left, undefended, due to his worry that the more powerful humans would destroy the planet. Game, Yang, Cheryl, Cezar, Ashton... And several others. If they were here, then a lot of this chaos could have been averted. Right? Because of their amazing offensive abilities. Adailia's mind raced with scenarios involving the MIA humans; Yang, sending a blazing trail of fire towards the huge ships covering above; Cezar, making one of his strange inventions to weaken and kill several Evoknight soldiers; Game, manipulating the ships to crash to the surface of Sigma, destroying a great deal of the invaders inside. Just the thought made her smile.

Because Game would have known what to do. Game would have sent the Evoknights packing. Her opinion of him may have been small, but Adailia knew the kid had serious firepower. Game was, essentially, the leader of the motley group of people. He'd pulled them through with jokes and comedic fodder when everyone was depressed; he'd given everyone something to do when he, himself, was down in the dumps. She could imagine him now, that stupid toothpaste stain of white in his brown hair as he ordered everyone about, a completely serious expression on his generally lax face. Suddenly she remembered the pressure of his lips on hers, the fierce longing in his eyes. Her skin tingled. No. I'm not thinking about that. It's just.... Ew.

Her? Adailia Jones? And... Game? She grit her teeth in frustration, a warm blush spreading over her cheeks. She'd just had to think of that, didn't she? Her concentration wavered, and she let out a startled wheeze when the shield faltered. One shot came towards her, and she managed to harden the shield just enough so that she wasn't fried. The laser hit the shield, bending it inwards until it was almost touching her stomach, before it snapped back and vaporized the Evo who shot it. The elastic rebound felt like a sucker punch to the gut. "Oooooh..." she moaned, biting her lip. She hadn't tested out how far she could go like this, never having stretched herself so thin... But she couldn't give up. "I said hurry," she growled, forcing her voice not to be a squeak.

Suddenly, the shots hitting the shield seemed stronger. "What the Heck?!" she gasped, pushing harder. The lasers weren't bounding back as easily. Adailia pushed again, even harder as she realized the shield itself was weakening.

A sharp pain hit her stomach. The organs themselves seemed to convulse and spasm, twisting themselves into grotesque shapes and squeezing. Her throat started to burn furiously, like she'd swallowed a ton of salt water (Not a pleasant experience, mind you...). Her throat was suddenly blocked off, and she tasted iron in her mouth. Had she bitten her lip or something? No. She felt the liquid that was intruding her throat fill her mouth, starting to seep out of the corners of her lips. This couldn't.... It couldn't be. She raised one hand to wipe at her mouth, starting to cough as her airways were blocked. The liquid was thick and salty. She was drowning in it, in a sea of the syrupy, metal-tasting water. Adailia drew her hand back after coughing into her fist. Her eyes widened. Clots of red and smaller speckles of crimson liquid stained the pale skin of her hand, running down her forearm to the crook of her elbow, where it dripped to the ground. She continued staring, her eyes huge.

No. No. I can't have pushed so hard alrea- Her thoughts were interrupted by her own furious coughing, spattering blood all over her hands and arms. The liquid overflowed her mouth. Her chest was starting to hurt as some of the blood drained back down and pooled in her lungs. Great. Just perfect. She was going to die of asphyxiation, drowning in her own bodily fluids. How nice.

Adailia coughed several more times, but kept her concentration on the shield. "Dang," she rasped. "If I have to die, you pieces of crap are coming, too." Looking back at the other humans, she snapped, "Go! I can't hold on any longer, if you stay here you'll die!" Then she braced herself, blood still running in an endless torrent out of her mouth, staining her lips crimson like an unflattering lipstick. She tried to swallow it, thinking of ways to stop the hemorrhaging going on and causing the pain in her belly.

She knew she looked bad-the girl's brown hair, curly as ever, frizzled and tangled from lack of brushing for a few days, tipped with red blood that was drying and caking the soft locks. Deep purple circles were forming under her eyes, which were dulling into a very pale blue. Blood was running down her chin, soaking her chest and making her skin very pallid and chalky-and her stomach growled, demanding food even though it would just be agony to her burning throat and the terrifying, ripping sensation happening inside. She could practically hear the organs burning themselves up, then the contractions of her stomach ripping the remains apart.

Adailia was weakening severely with each second; her muscles, and her resolve, were growing tired. What would be the worst that would happen if she let the shield fall? That the Evos would tear her body apart? If she could be a distraction, she'd save the humans some time. It'd only lapsed about seven minutes since Jairus had fallen, but it seemed longer, with her memories and the agony she was enduring. He should have gotten up by now. Hopefully the humans wouldn't be stupid and they'd see the little opening she'd made in the back of the shield so they could get out.

Finally it felt like someone could scoop the thick fluid in her lungs out with an icecream scooper. She thrust out weakly, spearing an Evoknight with a sword made from the shield itself as the aura dissipated into a thin mist, retreating back to her and disappearing with a sparkle, as if saying farewell. In a way it was.

The aliens, menacing and strong, contradicting how weak she herself felt, moved in, surrounding her and speaking in rough, foreign tones, as if deciding she was too dangerous to keep alive. Still recovering from the snap of exhaustion, her throat dry and still filled with blood, her stomach snarling in hunger, Adailia could only manage to translate some of it. "Kill her." Blue eyes widened, and she gasped in fear. She thought she'd be ready to sacrifice herself, which she had, to save her friends. But she found she didn't want to die. Tears welled in her eyes and a lump rose in her throat, cutting off what little air she could process. She shrieked out a curse hoarsely, managing an angry face and a rage-filled voice. She was going to die, anyway. She shouldn't be afraid.

Tears falling to run rivers through the blood stains on her cheeks, she screamed again angrily, as is human custom to try and scare an enemy away. She mustered enough strength to make a flimsy sword, and struck out, piercing one Evo's armor and spilling it's blood all over her before she turned, slicing. Two, three Evoknights fell before the sword dissipated, her power spent as she coughed up more and more blood.

Sudden pain filled her body from several directions, cold metal jolting through her skin. She looked down, her body already tilting. Several swords, thick and heavy, penetrated her skin. One was just above her hip, another in her back. Yet another in her chest. She looked up, staring straight at the Evo with the blade protruding between her ribs, and smiled fiendishly, ignoring the pain. She spit at him, a small spurt of blood, and he pushed in deeper. Her fear intensified with the pain, and she cried out in agony, falling to the ground. Her heart sounded broken, fractured, in her ears, throbbing slowly in a broken rhythm. She hit the ground with a thud on her side, her arms drawn up to protect her face on instinct. Which was stupid. Why would someone protect their face if they were going to die?

Adailia's eyes grew duller and duller by the second, the edges of her vision turning fuzzy. She stared, fascinated, at her blood, which was pouring rivers into the pavement. How could she, a simple person, have so much blood? A foot was placed on her numb shoulder, and she was roughly turned onto her back. She whimpered softly, feeling the need to after showing off the tough-guy act for so long. The Evoknight stared at her triumphantly, it's sword placed directly over her heart. More tears slipped down her cheeks.

Thank you, guys. Was her only thought as the cold steel was rammed into her dying heart. Her body jolted, back arching up. But it was just reflex. Her eyes had already closed, a cocky smile upon her lips. A tiny sparkle rose up from her body, shimmering orange like the shield that had just failed only moments before. Adailia Jones was gone, leaving behind nothing but the empty shell she'd once inhabited.

PostSubject: Re: "Some say the world will end in fire. . ."   "Some say the world will end in fire. . ." - Page 2 EmptyMon Nov 15, 2010 7:41 pm

Jairus forced himself up as a bunch of orange energy sprang up around them. "What in the hell...?" He muttered, managing to stand back up on his feet. He looked around, alarmed at what was going on. The energy encircled the group. Will it shrink and crush us all? Jairus wondered. He didn't quite understand until he noticed one of the female humans, arms around her chest, looking like she was about to explode. Then he remembered. The humans have powers. Powers that could protect, and that could kill. He watched her for a second. What was her name? Alyssa? Adolla?

Jairus jumped slightly when the girl told everyone to run. There was a small hole in the energy-like shield. His partner was nearest the hole. "Cosmas, you're leading now. Go!" He pointed at the hole, causing him a short stab of pain. Damn invaders. He stayed where he was as everyone filed out. He gave a light shove to one of the humans who acted like she was about to stay. Jairus waited until everyone was out of the shield before he moved toward the hole.

Just before going out of the aura, he turned to look at the human one last time. He stood there for several moments, watching the girl. He gasped as the surge of lasers suddenly increased, battering the shield like a rainstorm. Jairus continued to stay where he was, even after he saw the girl convulse and cough up blood. His job was to protect the humans. All of them. This girl...Adailia, he suddenly remembered, was going to die. Her power seemed to have side affects. Should he run, let this noble human die, and continue to help the rest of the human race? Cosmas might be able to do it on his own for now...Or, should he follow code, not run, and die alongside a human? Jairus made his decision. He would be helping more humans by living, and his objective was everything.

Jairus couldn't see the human's face, but he could see a torrent of blood dripping onto the ground. He took a deep breath, seeing the shield waver. He had to go, and now. "Adailia, you have my everlasting respect..." He realized now that this was the first time he had addressed a human by his or her name...Usually it was just 'Human'. Jairus pushed the useless thought out of his head and returned to his military stature. "Human, your sacrifice will not be forgotten." With that, he turned and ran out of the shield and after the other humans and his partner.

He didn't look back. Not even when he heard the agonizing scream of a dieing life. Strangely, his heart felt cold. Adailia wasn't just a human, she was a hero. He inscribed her name into his mind, promising himself to never forget her sacrifice. His heart felt a weird coldness. There was a strange near-silence now, and Jairus sprinted as fast as he could to the Miralhnae spaceport. Cosmas and the others should already be there. He saw the girl he had shoved earlier run onto his ship, the cruiser UCAV Iroquois. It's sister ship, the Commonwealth, plus two destroyers were also there. All their engines were already on, dull blue energy shining out of the idle engines. The Iroquois was the only ship with a landing ramp down. The other ships were ready to go.

Jairus sprinted toward the ramp. Adailia's body were certainly never be recovered, but Jairus decided right then and there that he would make a military funeral for the valorous girl. He would also get her a "Distinguished Civilian Service Award", the most prestigious medal a civilian could get.

His combat boots clanked loudly against the medal of the ship's landing ramp. He was breathing heavily from running so much. Jairus only stopped running when he had reached the control room. Everyone in his group plus more was already there. He stood in the doorway and took off his helmet. His eyes looked at the ground, as if he was ashamed in himself. Everyone quieted down and looked his direction. Jairus took a deep breath, though he knew everyone could already guess the fate of the teenage girl.

"Adailia...didn't make it." He murmured. There was a moment of complete silence, aside from the humming of the Iroquois. Then, as if revitalized, Jairus's face regained its normal confident look and he walked to the main control panels, then sat in his familiar chair. He grabbed a radio, which for some reason worked when communication to Central UWUC Command was impossible. "All hands, report to battlestations and fire up the engines. We're gettin' the hell outta here." His voice was broadcasted all over the Iroquois, Commonwealth, Aeon, and Darkstar. Jairus put down the radio and pressed several buttons on the controls. The Iroquois's engines roared to life, a bright blue blasting out of its four engines. From the central window, Jairus saw the Darkstar rocket into the air ahead, quickly followed by the Aeon. Jairus pushed a lever forward, and the Iroquois lurched forward and blasted after the two destroyers.

The convoy of ships headed dead south at full speed. To Jairus's dismay, the invaders had pretty much already dominated the air. The occasional UWUC interceptor or bomber was always being trailed by four or five invaders. Jairus commanded his convoy to stay close to the ground. They wouldn't be as big of targets as things high in the air. Jairus knew there were already millions, no, billions of people dead. He couldn't bear losing one of his own ships.

Lasers were hitting the ground all around the convoy. Accuracy was a problem for the invader ships, who were so far away. And yet even at this range, the lasers were coming frighteningly close. Jairus didn't say a word. He didn't need to. Subordinate soldiers were steering the ship while he was watching the many radar contacts swarming over to the convoy's position. Suddenly a flash of crimson flew right in front of the Iroquois's command window. The laser hit the ground right below the ship and it rocked violently to the left. Jairus swore under his breath. He couldn't die now. He just couldn't. Another flash of crimson filled the window's view, but this time there was the earsplitting screech of metal sheering and exploding. The Aeon abruptly exploded into a flash of fiery light. "No!" Jairus growled angrily. More than 500 good soldiers and civilians just died. He fought back a feeling of panic. What if they didn't make it? Adailia's death would have been in vain. Jairus stopped thinking about it. They would make it. The constant need of reassurance was still very bothering.

Within minutes, another crimson laser struck the Commonwealth, but unlike the Aeon, its shield held against the laser. Jairus examined his control panel. He was viewing a gridded black-and-green picture of Sigma...and a huge amount of invader ships around it. It was way too risky to try to escape the planet. Jairus relayed this to the other ships, trying to keep panic out of his voice. Damn it, when he joined UWUC, he never expected something like this. He sat silently in his command chair, pondering where to go. Space and any city or town was a definite no. Sigma's land was covered in towns and cities. Their best hope was to go to the poorest, least populated area on the planet. Jairus picked up the radio once more. His voice boomed around the three speeding ships. "Redirect course to Priori City." He set the radio back down without another word. A few minutes later, the crimson rain of lasers halted. They were safe, for now.

...Or so they thought. While flying high in the air at hypersonic speeds across Dagda, the convoy ran straight into another hostile gold-and-black ship. "How the hell many are there?" Jairus asked, to no one in particular. The ship fired a wave of lasers, tearing at the three ships' shields. The enemy ship was smaller, but a lot more accurate. "Evade downward! Under the ship!" Jairus snapped to his pilots. They quickly complied, and the Darkstar and Commonwealth followed. The ships swooped under the large gold vessel. There was a moment the firing stopped. The ships were at an angle where both ships bad weapon blind spots. But the moment of calmness only lasted half a second. The UWUC ships sped full speed away, but it was too late for the Darkstar. The destroyer was too lightly armored and shielded, and as a crimson laser struck the aft deck, a large explosion tore through the ship. The whole aft exploded brilliantly, and the front half plunged out of the air and into the Sigmian ground. Jairus swore fluently. He was afraid of the current death toll. Everyone who died here was his fault. They were under his command.

The hail of lasers continued. The Iroquois's and Commonwealth's shields failed. The Commonwealth was struck in the center deck. Fire exploded out of the ship, but it stayed in the air. Jairus heard someone in the room panic. "Shit, we're not going to make it! We're going to die here!" An UWUC officer silenced the person with a harsh glare. Damn civvies. Then an earsplitting explosion boomed through the Iroquois. It rocked to port first, then started leaning starboard. An UWUC officer at a control panel turned to Jairus. He looked alarmed, not that anyone could blame him. "Sir we've been hit!" Well duh. Jairus thought. "We've been hit on our starboard side, right on the missile launchers. The ammunition could detonate at any moment..." Jairus sat back in his chair. "Well what are you waiting on? Eject the damaged section!" The officer nodded and typed a command into a computer. The ship shuddered violently, then stopped leaning.

The two crippled ships flew farther from the invading ship. It didn't follow them, and neither ship took another ship. They soon arrived at Priori, the poorest, least populated city on Sigma. Hell, it could be mistaken for ruins. No intruders were here. No gunshots. No explosions. No screaming. The Commonwealth, too damaged to go on any longer, crashlanded within the center of the city. The Iroquois landed several blocks away from its sister ship, crushing a couple of buildings into pancakes.

Jairus sat back in his chair and sighed. They made it.

And Xeda was sad because Adailia died and Cosmas, while impressed, couldn't share the same sentiments. They left with Jairus and his superamazing ship in a whole evasive sprint that would have been much awesomer if we cared. And then we were safe, great cheers and woos. Most everyone was happy about this post of all godlyness. And the "delayed plot" could finally go forward in its downhill turn. More cheers. More happiness. Utter and complete ubergreateness.

A shriek shook Caleb from his pity of Dostaria, the sound of it announced that their was someone in trouble. Well, everyone was in trouble. The only reason he had picked up on this one was because it was human. He could hear the desperation and how female it sounded. It sounded like a curse. If it was a human, then there was obviously more somewhere, he had to look into this. "Hold on tight. And please, don't fidget." he ordered, scooping up Dostaria in a swift display of strength that he regretted. Carrying the girl bridal style, he leaned forward, picking up his feet doggedly as he began to run. It was his best bet to run as fast as he could towards the sound, it would be the only way to know for sure who or what had made it. And he was off. Moving faster than a speeding bullet. His feet pounding through the ash of the murdered. His eyes blurred as he increased speed, not really knowing where he was going, but only telling by the noise that had caused him to run.

OOC: And he's on the ship, don't worry about that he's naked or that he has superspeed, just go with it.
