“Admiral! We are approaching the enemy planet of Sigma!” The armor-clad bulk sitting in the captain’s chair looked at the soldier who had announced their arrival. He pressed a button on the arm of his chair and nine of the interlocking screens shifted to show the face’s—well faceplates—of nine other Evoknights. They addressed him in unison like they somehow shared a brain. “Prepare for battle,” he said simply. They answered with quick and sharp ‘yes sir’s right before he ended the transmission. Another of his soldiers stepped forward and asked, “Admiral Odin Sir, what are your orders of attack?” Behind the faceplate the other-dimensional alien moved his distorted mouth into what could be called a smirk. “Destroy all orbital defense units before moving onto obliterating the upper hemisphere of the planet.” The soldier replied with a snap of the Evoknight’s salute. The weapons commander turned to his panel and started entering commands. “Weapons are fully operational. Ready to fire at will.” “Commence.” The weapons commander pressed the sequence of buttons that gave full operations to the other weapons operators on standby. They went instantly to work.

Bright beams of highly condensed light shot from the thousands of guns on the outside hull of the ship. The first of the orbital defense stations had nothing to prepare for this. A laser collided with side of it and instantly obliterated all matter that it touched. The secret to this was the lasers were made of anti-matter. The same machinery that was put into the spaceships and their armor was set up around the lasers. They set up the shield around them until contact and the lasers kept blasting until their objective was destroyed. The other nine ships of the fleet started firing their own lasers at the orbital defense stations. All of them were destroyed before they could even fire back. Then they moved right onto the top half of Sigma. Lasers pounded into the surface of the planet and started obliterating everything. Deep craters started popping up all over the surface. Some of them buried their way past the crust and into the molten center of the planet. When the lasers moved past to destroy more of the planet molten rock started erupting out in a fantastic display. Odin simply put up his hand and all attention moved to him. “Halt fire. I want to see their response.” Even though a lot of the Evoknight’s questioned this in their minds they dare not be unloyal. All fire was stopped as the Admiral waited for any contact. He didn’t want this to be a win this easy. Let them at least gather their forces and launch some sort of counter attack.

Caleb looked at the sky. At first he thought it had been festival lights... Until he saw the cloud of destruction enveloping anything that the laser didn't destroy. He had been only going to the arcade, his pockets full of change and hoping they had fixed the machine that ate your money. But... He realized almost immediately that anyone that had been in the arcade was now vapor. The laser moved towards him, he saw bodies running away turn to skeletons, and then dust before his very eyes. He braced himself as a wave of ash from bodies sprayed into his eyes and covered his clothing, he raised his arms defensively but was too scared too run as the laser came closer and closer. The erupting cloud of debris ate him alive, and he disappeared entirely. A scream.

"EVERYONE! Load up!" screeched a booming voice at least three hundred miles from Caleb's location. Even from their they could see the destruction was leaving, and how it seemed to throw itself at them. "Get in your ships!" said the Galaxior, his voice bouncing through the intercom. "IT'S COMING FOR US!" these were his last words as the burning laser reduced him to ash. The Cadet Academy was in a frenzy, anybody and everybody was throwing themselves into spaceships to get away. As students and teachers alike perished from the explosions. It was like a swarm of locusts as the spaceship scattered. Those that were too labored exploded, those that collided with others met the same fate. No one was exempt from the chaos that followed the blast.

Empress Lenina folded her arms tight across her chest as she stared out from the balcony of the UWUC Building, watching the laser knife through the early morning sky. Even her mouth hung wide open, not knowing what was going on at all. What was going on? It seemed she would never find the answer, as she stared out over the horizon, watching the explosions and hearing the screams. Her dress billowed up behind her and an explosion sprayed ash and debris at her. She held her hands out as if that would stop the assault, her hand was grabbed and wrenched away from the balcony, as she stumbled soot faced as he savior drag her off. She realized it was one of her bodyguards, come just in time. A large metallic bolt shot itself across the UWUC building, slamming into the bodyguard, Lenina fell forward, looking at the shard of a spaceship that had careened into someone that had saved her life. What was happening?

The Galaxior fleet was on the move, jetisonning themselves across space and at their attackers. They didn't know who they were, but they could tell that they weren't any regulation ship. And of course, they weren't Hunter Trade Union. They were unknown, but they were a target. Anything they had, guns, bombs, lasers were fired at the ship. Knowing that it was decimating what they called a home. "KILL THEM!" shouted a commander of one of the fleet. "KILL THEM BEFORE THEY KILL US!" the fear was evident in his voice and who wouldn't be? No one had this much power in their universe. No one with the strength to carve a trench through a whole planet, and straight into its core. How did they have a chance? They didn't of course, but it was all they had. Admiral Kargagna couldn't plan for them, he was on Varsia. They were goners.

Maria strummed her guitar in the humans apartments, trying to get the perfect note out. Or had been trying. A deep rumble that she couldn't quite describe. Was it a growl? Was it a roar? Nope. Maybe an alien word would be appropriate. She looked out her window, looking for the culprit of this obnoxious sound. And she was stunned to see it. A crimson angel descending from the skies itself to wreak unholy vengeance upon the aliens of Sigma. Or... If this was a story, thats what she would have called it. But this was life, or coming death. She paused, unable to move her limbs as she simply stared at the blast, unable to generate a response. The screams and shouts ran through her mind like a million thoughts at once. All those people... she thought. They weren't even people anymore, but ashed that was clouding her window, ash that would never be washed away no matter how many years it took.

Caleb was running. His legs didn't even seem to touch the ground as the completely black child sprinted through the streets. His feet connecting with the destruction around him. His speed was immeasurable as he outran the blast. His muscles tightened, as he neared the point of complete and utter exhaustion, but giving up was no answer. He ran to the only safe house he knew. A wave of dust flowed behind him, matching the lasers. He felt like every inch of his body was completely alive at that moment. Every hair on his body felt like it was on edge. He skidded, not too a halt, as he completely slided by the apartments, but out of the path of the laser. Hiding behind a building. He tightened his eyes shut. End. End. End. Why didn't it work? The deep groaning emitting from the laser continued on for a moment. Before it all stopped, and all was still. Caleb fell to down, his knees to his chest and fingers in his ears. Ignore the screams. Ignore them. Ignore them.

Dostaria stood, open mouthed, gazing at the fiery sky. She could see layers of ozone burning away and curling to nothing as the laser pierced them. In a way it was beautiful, a sick, twisted way. Then the blast hit. A wave of fiery wind threw Dostaria off of her feet and hard against the metal ground. In that instant around half of the buildings in Sigma had been leveled, giving Dostaria a clear view of the carnage around her. One moment there stood a Chromakan mother and child, the next they were merely standing skeletons that gravity hadn't felled yet. Dostaria's eyes widened in terror, her mouth opened in a soundless scream. The wave of fire was coming for her next. Dostaria stared death in the face. She tried to use her power, to see if this very tangible feeling of doom would scare. But it didn't, it kept coming like a freight train from hell. Dostaria, tears streaming down her face, accepted her fate.

Boom, crash. Like a resonating drumbeat, echoing and dancing through the city of waves of sound too slow for human ears to hear before they saw the destruction. A building fell and collapsed, crushing several aliens who were watching the sky with puzzled expressions. Kaaaa-boom. Like the finest poetry depicting disaster, sound waves traveled over Sigma and rattled bones and eardrums. Flames leaped bright, tongues of heat that licked eagerly and needily at the sky, where snow fell like black diamonds.

Adailia must have looked quite a sight, with her hair frizzy and tangled from sleep, her eyes wide and flashing blue and green in the otherworldly light, mouth agape. Staring, terror-stricken, out her window that was, since the disaster on the fourth floor, thankfully on the first floor. She could escape easily. Yes, everyone heard/read right. The one human who could face down a known threat without even a flinch, her fists pulled back, knuckles popping from the tightness of her clenched fingers, was petrified. Her heart was hammering loudly in her chest, so that she could feel it in her fingers and toes. What is going on? Her limbs started weakening. But her will, still strong as steel, kept her up. Grabbing a packet off the side of her windowsill, not knowing what was inside, she started for the door.

-

The white-haired girl instantly cried out in fear, afraid of the loud sounds bursting in crescendos all around her. She sank to the ground, whimpering. The blonde next to her stared, emotionless. "Raimaru-kun," Yin sobbed. "Go see what's wrong!" At the direct order, the boy turned on his heel and disappeared out the door.

"What's going on?" Kaira shouted, grabbing on to the door frame of the bathroom for support. She'd gone to the bathroom for two minutes - just two! - to brush her teeth, when the ground started rumbling, the vibrations so intense that they started shaking things right off the medicine cabinet. A sudden explosion outside caused her to slip and fall onto the hard, minty white bathroom floor. The brunette wasn't the only thing that fell; outside, a tall building crashed to the ground, reduced to rubble and ash by a flash of blinding light.

One look at her roommate told her that she had very much to worry about. Her normally tough and composed friend was sporting a look of utter terror on her pale face. Her mouth was open in a small 'o', her hair scraggly and looking like a bird's nest. The girl's normally stormy, energetic blue eyes glazed with the one thing she'd never expected to see from her; fear. Kaira's own usually calm, violet optics flashed with fright and horror at whatever was happening outside. She felt like a deer caught in the headlights as she stared out the window at the multicoloured, deadly laser beams.

A sudden flash of movement shook the teenager back to the present. Wiping her sweaty forehead with one hand, she followed her roommate out the door, not looking back as she fled for the exit as fast as she could. Panic scrambled her mind, not allowing her to think straight; only to run, run away from the noise and commotion, her body telling her that was the only way to survive.

Xeda woke suddenly to screeching sounds, explosions, screams, confusion... She got up from he bed quickly, heart pounding from fright. What the fuck? She got out of her bed and immediately went to her window, opening the blinds, throwing in light that made her squint and her eyes sting. Shielding herself from the light with a raised hand, she could see past the shine and the destruction that lay behind it.

The high towers that made up the scene of Sigma were no longer a strong and imposing scene. Now it was ruin, the skyscrapers that once stood so tall were now mounds that couldn't rival an RV.

"Holy shit..." she whispered, eyes wide in both awe and terror. Smoke rose to the skies, threatening to block out the sun with its chocking blackness. Fire rose and, looming above them without care and greed, a large ship, nine others with it, practically gloating with their stance. And, as if it wasn't funny enough they sent more beams down, causing explosions, more deaths, more chaos... A cloud of debris rose above the city and tearing through it came another beam, hitting terrifyingly close, the boom of the blast causing her to cover her ears, a scream coming from her lungs shortly. What the hell was all this?

As the roars died down she took her hands from her ears, checking them with one short glance to see if they were bleeding. They weren't. It seemed as if destruction was the gourmet today. How she wished that stupid alien had taken them all to Varsia. The planet rumbled after some hesitation, making her stumble, catching onto the window to keep herself from falling down. Staring out she could see the red globs of magma swelling out of the city. What had they done? Cut clear through the planet? What do they do? Run? Hide? To where? It didn't seem like anywhere would be a safe haven from this. It wouldn't matter if she knew the perfect spot. Her legs were welded to the ground, firm and unmoving.

----

Cosmas looked into the sky, eyes wide as he looked up into the sky at the giant ships that blasted away into the city. No matter what dangers he'd gone through on various planets, he'd never come into something like this. He gripped his gun tightly, hands and arms trembling furiously. He didn't need to ask what horrors were beginning to unfold. It was painfully obvious just exactly what was going on. As the screams rang out in unison he could imagine the carnage, the destruction. He imagined his home, his roommates, drowned in death and charred from beams.

He wasn't used to this at all. He didn't live around beams that cut through the ground every single day. He'd never seen a blast so large and so destructive. Ships flew into the air as people fled, others crashing into each other, in their haste, falling back to the ground, on buildings, on people, causing more fires, more explosions. He looked around, trying to find something to get him out of this. But there was no ship around fro him to even attempt to get away in. His only shelter was the apartment buildings that he had been assigned to keep guard and make sure no one gets in or out.

----

It was... supposed to be the day of departure. Deus worked in his small ship, modifying it slightly so it would get him to Boykkin, a trip that would take more than a week on any ship of today. It was full with all of his work. The other copies in his locker. He was at the front of the UWUC when it started, the first blast causing him to look up from his work. Taking off his protective goggles he looked into the air, seeing the large ships in the sky as they caused turmoil to everyone below.

This day of all days. He saw a cloud of debris come towards him and quickly got into his ship, hearing the clanking of objects on the windshield as it blew past. The dust getting inside, making him cough. He didn't need to deal with this. He should have left the day before like he'd originally planned, but he had to be on the safe side and save another day for work. That was a mistake, he could see now.

Already he was devising a way to fix this in his mind.

----

"KILL THEM! KILL THEM BEFORE THEY KILL US!" The order ran in Juido's ears as he took control. He had dutifully volunteered through action and silence, following the orders of his superiors as they screamed orders of attack. Ready the weapon, fire. Always be ready for any possible ground attack. He worked quickly, sequencing and readying everything.

"Get to the top!" His commander called. Being the closest, Juido went up the latter, opening the latch up top of the tank. Up there was a one-man gun. A canon-like shape to it. He sat on the chair of the mount, the weapon starting automatically. He aimed towards the ships, sending multiple blasts of red energy.

Carter had been strolling a few blocks away from the apartments when all hell literally broke loose. He had just bought some brand new shoes when a huge section of Xychus city was suddenly consumed in a fiery pillar of light. "What the...?" Carter muttered, awestruck. He watched in horror as everything around the beam turned to ashes. Everything that didn't burn to ashes seemed to burst in a flash of light. Terrified screams rose up from all directions, but Carter didn't move. His feet seemed to be rooted into the concrete below him. Then, one gigantic explosion rocketed fire and debris into the sky. He had a few seconds to watch the shockwave throwing everything into the air before it hit him. The ground seemed to vanish, and Carter was thrown painfully into a wall.
--
Jairus immediately acted when Sigma went straight to hell. He had been standing off-duty at the apartments' main entrance, where Corporal Roche and Lieutenant Krieger were murdered by a robot that kidnapped a human, but now he was in the apartments' main lobby. Going from all the explosions and screaming, Jairus knew things weren't going well. He unlocked an armored compartment in the wall. It held weapons for the guards. "Cosmas! Report!" he called, but got no answer. Fuck. He grabbed his M-83 Rifle, customized for his specialties. Then he grabbed two pistols, some grenades, a combat knife, and an extra plate of body armor. Finally, he donned his helmet. There was a slight buzzing noise as the helmet automatically adjusted his vision, lowering the massive amounts of light that were filling his vision.

Now fully equipped for war, Jairus sprinted back outside just in time to see a civilian ship disintegrate right before his eyes. What the hell is going on? Jairus stood still for several precious seconds, sorting everything out and analyzing any options that could help the situation. He watched helplessly as spaceships exploded, sending ricocheting debris all over the damn place. He observed a ship suspended over Xychus city, raining hell down on everything. Then, for some reason, the ship stopped firing. It just stayed where it was, hanging over the city like the head of death. Even without the lasers, the sky itself seemed to be blazing. Jairus reached to his helmet and pressed a button, activating his radio. He tried to keep the fear out of his voice and remember the military's stupid callsigns. "This is Lieutenant Cavaco, I'm at Hotel Alpha and there's a damn big ship hanging over the city. I need..." Jairus broke off as he heard nothing but static in his ear. Fuck, the radios were down too? Frustrated, he lowered his arm and turned it off. He had no communication with Central Command or his partner.

He was on his own, but his objective was clear: kill that ship, then worry about the two others he could see. They were much farther away and didn't seem like immediate threats. Jairus frowned. He was trained to be a SIST, a Ship Infiltration Shock Trooper. They boarded ships and kicked it's ass from the inside out. But his real objective was to guard the humans. He was directly commanded by a General to guard the humans, and disobeying orders could sentence him to death. No, make his own objectives...and he couldn't get near that ship anyway. He watched as a Galaxior fleet approached the enemy. He had a sinking feeling that they would all die. Jairus turned and ran back into the apartments. He had to barge through a few civilians to get there. He ran to a front desk and got on an intercom. "If you can hear this message, then you're damn stupid! Get the hell out of this building! Report to the main entrance for evac NOW!" His voice was loud and clear throughout the whole building. Gun at the ready, Jairus stood near the doors. He hoped everyone was already out...the last thing he needed were panicking civvies to guard.

It was a while before Cosmas snapped his attentions back. They had some time. Whatever they were doing. They had some time. He looked from the sky, whatever knowledge of survival and his small amount of security training coming into action. He ran into the apartments from the back entrance. The first thing he needed to do was see if Jairus was even around to help. He knew he was off duty, he might not even be there. He stopped in his run as it hit him: What if he were caught in the middle of that? He could imagine the old fool walking down the street before suddenly being incinerated into nothing. Dammit. He couldn't think of that right now.

He burst back into a run. As he did, going down corridor after corridor, he suddenly heard over the intercom of the building the yelling of his partner, relieving him instantly. He didn't have to tackle this alone. He snatched open the back door to the lobby, and spotted Jairus immediately. He'd never been happier to see him in the short time he'd had to work with him.

---

Xeda jumped when she suddenly heard a voice yell from the building telling them all to get down for evacuation. Evacuate to where? Those monsters seemed like they could find anything. Whatever. She didn't want to be here anyways. Away was any good place for her.

Without grabbing a thing she immediately ran out of her room, and for a split second she wondered where Dostoria was, but the thought was immediately blocked by urgency. Flying down the stairs, Xeda was in the lobby in no time, seeing the two vampires assigned to guard them, both of them armed with guns, one of them armed with more weapons than a full army. She hardly passed a glance to the vault of weaponry. In a normal situation she'd be pissed knowing they had a whole stash that they could have used some time if they knew where they were. Right now she didn't care. In such a helpless situation she could only follow orders, no matter who it was.

The raggedy fleet threw everything they had at the Evoknights. “Deploy shields,” the Admiral ordered with a calm voice, his voice being transmitted to the other bridges of the ships. All shields went up and the weapons of their enemy collided with them in a majestic way. Odin sat there and watched their inferior weapons. They were hardly draining the shields. He directed, “Have our ship destroy one of theirs. I want to toy with them.” Show them just how out powered they were. The weapons officers set aim and fired at the ship next to the fleet commander’s. It was a stunning thing to behold. Hardly any debris was left.

---

The screams. The destruction. Lasers dropped from the sky in a beautiful massacre. Everything they touched was no more. They burned into the ground, leaving holes for the magma of the core to swell up. It was chaos. It was the end of the world. How could a human watch the planet in which they stand be destroyed after Earth? This was madness! It was nothing but a nightmare! The toddler jumped out of bed, heart beating erratically. Bianca covered her face with her hands. For the freaky little girl even she was afraid of that nightmare. It was utter horror. Her wide and freighted purple eyes peered over the windowsill as she looked at Sigma. All safe and sound. For about a second. A laser like her nightmare fell to the ground on the horizon. No. No! What twisted thing made this happen?! Her nightmare was becoming reality! She dropped to her knees, pressing her hands to her ears. Make this stop! Make this stop! All those screams seemed to rip the very being from her. What in the universe could be doing this?! But a call came over for an evacuation and she was instantly in motion. Anything to get out of there! She got to the bottom floor and saw two of the guards, one loaded down with a whole arsenal. But what good would those be against the lasers capable of burning into the core of the planet? She saw Xeda and cried out in desperation, “Xexe!” Her mouth moved as her true, child-like voice full of terror rung out.

---

Tristan Christopher Price. That was his name. A human that had been in the wrong place at the wrong time. The first laser to touch ground had been right where he was standing. His death was a quick yet very painful one. But would his death be noted? Or would it forever be lost with the thousands of others that had already died.

OOC: Tristan's death failed >->

"Stop pushing!" called Maria, as she was unceremoniously, rushed out of the apartments. It was much dangerous on the streets, but the guards had ordered an immediate evacuation. But to where? Sigma was being assaulted, what place was safe? Some underground bunker? Yeah, the laser had cut to the core, nothing was safe. This absolute fact, was... frightening to say the least. Knowing that escape from Sigma was impossible and that exactly what had happened to Earth, would happen here again. She remembered this laser. How it had cut through Earth instantly. But what was causing this? It didn't make any sense. How could whatever had blown up Earth have gotten here as well. Were they being followed? A devastating thought that spooked her. As she stumbled out of the apartments, staring at the destruction caused by that laser that had nearly annihilated what she had thought was a home.

Caleb ignored the fact that shards of his burning clothes were falling off of his body as he dodged slow moving debris, that seemed to be details loading on an incredibly slow computer. He vaulted over bodies, scooted under steel beams, and bounced from wall to wall at least three times as he ran. What was he running to? The Damsel in Distress of course, or DiD. He slid to a halt, at least a mile from the laser that was coming towards the DiD, but his force carried him forward still, as he slipped and slide across the ground as if some gravitational force were pulling him towards the girl who was in the direct path. Why wasn't she moving. As he slowed to the speed of sound, he touched her hand, it would be like touching a razor blade quickly cutting across your skin. But he stopped just in time, as the laser bared down on them both. In that instant, he was gone with the girl.

His feet pounded on the ground, with Dostoria in his hands, carried bridal style. He ignored the scientific fact that with the friction he was creating she would be nude or 'close too' nude in a moment. Caleb growled under his breath as he realized that in his haste to avoid the laser he had breezed past the apartments. He stopped running, his dash closing to halt, in a district that hadn't been affected by the laser yet. He fell forward, releasing the girl, so that he didn't land on her. He fell across the ground, his heart pounding in his chest. He wasn't scared. But hungry. So... So... Hungry.

Dostaria closed her eyes tight as the wall of fire bared down on her. Goodbye, cruel world! Of course, she didn't really think the world was cruel at all. It was, but that's how it was. Life wasn't fair. Contrary to what she expected Dostaria's life didn't 'flash before her eyes' like it was supposed to. The only thing she was was the hot glow of fire from behind her closed eyes. Then she felt something odd, she was unbalanced, but not dead. It was almost as if she were flying. She was moving fast, faster than any ship or plane could go. Was she being taken on an expressway to Heaven? Or Hell, said some dark little voice in the back of her mind. Then she looked up. She was going to fast to register what was happening, but she saw flashes of white and red above her. "Oof!" Then she was on the ground. Quickly getting to her feet, Dostaria surveyed her savior. Her dress was almost gone, only the most central areas saved, but she didn't notice. Sure enough, he had white hair and red eyes, like her's. But something was wrong. He was lying face down. "W-what's wrong?" Dostaria asked, her voice squeaking slightly.

OOC: D: TRISTAN DIED!? And yes, his death did fail. XD

Raimaru heard the orders and, confusion swamping his face, he stood stock still. He had orders from Yin... and now he had new orders. Which were he supposed to follow? His empty, emotionless eyes focused on the intercom, then towards the door, wondering what in God's name he was supposed to do. To anyone else, seeing him standing there among the totally wrecked apartments, he'd seem calm. Scarily calm. When the shock wave hit, it seemed to move in slow-motion, as it threw his body against the wall, causing blood to well on his chest and shoulders.

((Fail))

Adailia noted Kaira, behind her, with her aura signature, which was tainted a very deep purple-green combo with fear. "Stay with me," she said in a wobbly voice. "I can put up my shield to block any attacks or debris. We have to get out." Even though Kaira probably knew all this, it was a form of reassurance to the aura-reader. She needed to say the words, however empty, to reassure herself. No matter how many near-death experiences she may have endured, none created this raw, limitless power. Or the gut-wrenching terror she felt. She was on the edge of the cliff and falling off... She could only hope it was all over soon.

--

Yin whimpered and cried out loudly, terrified. She blinked, hearing the order, and got up, cowering slightly. "Raimaru-kun?" she called, starting to walk. Her legs were too weak to run. If she tried she'd fall. Rubble collapsed down behind her, brushing her heel. A new wave of fear made her heart jump into her throat, and she whipped off, adrenaline giving her strength enough to flee.

OOC: Poor Ritsuka. D:

All Kaira could do was nod; her voice caught in her throat, fear forcing her to swallow whatever words she had. She felt like throwing up; but there wasn't time enough to do that. Every extra second they lingered in one place could mean death. A tall Chromakan was proof of that; one second he was there, the next he was reduced to ashes by a blazing red light. The impact sent a shockwave out all around and the girl crashed to the floor, her knees buckling beneath her. She tried to scream, but all she could manage to do was lean over... and throw up what little food she'd eaten that day. Head spinning, she forced herself to stand up and stay with Adailia. Even together, they didn't stand a chance against the attackers. But it was worth a shot.

OOC (again): Ooohmigawd. Whatta fail.

Odin drummed his fingers in thought. What would the next course of action be? Why of course it’d be deploying the ground troops. What kind of invasion would this be without a ground assault? “Send in Corps 006 through 022 and the secret weapon,” he commanded. About 480,000 troops, not including the officers of the Corps, and their secret weapon should suffice. He still wasn’t done yet, though. “Bombers 297 through 348, clearance to run. VSF Units 2, 5, and 11 commence fighting against the enemy fleet. The Valkyrie will continue using the HCL beams on the planet.” Hundreds of smaller ships dispatched with soldiers inside towards the surface with other ships loaded with missiles and bombs followed suit. About 70 fighter ships took off from three of the main ships and took the fight up close and personal to the enemy fleet. The Valkyrie, the ship starboard of the Valhalla—Odin’s ship, started hammering the surface with the lasers again.

OOC: Fail, no?

Jairus watched unhappily as a few humans trickled into the room. They were all girls, and most of the human girls became fiesty when ordered to do something. And even worse, one of them looked like a toddler. He was glad he had a helmet. The dark black visor didn't allow anyone see his own terrified face...he's a lieutenant and is supposed to set an example. Jairus snapped out of his thoughts when he saw Cosmas run into the lobby. He had a moment of respite, knowing he wouldn't have to do everything himself. He turned to the three humans, looking at them impatiently. "Where are all the other humans?" Jairus asked, trying to keep his voice calm. Stupid civvies. He grabbed the intercom's microphone again. "All humans have sixty seconds to report to the main lobby. Fail to do so, and you're on your own." Jairus was completely serious about his statement. There wasn't a "No man left behind" thing for civilians. Best not wait for a few humans to save three, right? Hell, he might be waiting for ten humans. He might be waiting for none...the humans snuck out of the apartments all the time. Maybe their incompetence would finally kill them.

Jairus motioned for everyone to gather around him. "Listen up, Cosmas and humans. I own the cruiser UCAV Iroquois, currently stationed at the Miralhnae spaceport in the mid-southern section of the city. It's several blocks from our current position. Miralhnae may or may not have been destroyed, but we have to go there and see. It's our only chance of survival." Jairus was almost cut off by the sound of more explosions. He briefly looked out a window, just to see more lasers raining down from the sky. He turned back to the humans and his partner, his heart pounding. "We're going out into that hellstorm. Humans, just stay behind me and my partner Cosmas and do as we say." He checked a clock display on the corner of his visor. Two minutes had gone by, and the other humans still weren't here. Jairus pushed through the group that had assembled around him. He had only addressed humans, yet a few apartment staff were within the group. He walked toward the edge of the front doorway, looking outside through the glass doors. They were covered with ashes and dust. Jairus shattered one of the doors by ramming it with his rifle to get a better view. He carefully stepped out of the doorway, motioning for everyone else to stay inside. Jairus looked at the three huge attacking ships just in time to see smaller ships swarm out of them. He was too far away to see what the ships could be, but it was easy to guess what most of them were. Landing craft, full of troops. Damn. But at least he got his weapons for a reason. "Cosmas!" He called back into the apartments. "The ships...I think they're launching a ground invasion. Get me the rangefinder in the weapons cabinet. Now." Jairus wasn't sure how useful the binoculars would be, but it would still be best to have them. Without waiting for Cosmas, Jairus cautiosly walked farter away from the apartments. He motioned with his hand for the humans to follow.

What was wrong with him? What was wrong with him!? What about what was wrong with everything else but him? The sky was on fire, spaceship flew down from space like angels descending from heaven and she wanted to know what was wrong with him!? The thought made you want to slap her right then and there but he regained his heroic composure in a moment, sitting up suddenly. He looked at the girl, a red blush slowly bursting onto his face. Almost immediately he lost control of his tongue. "You see, I can run at supersonic speeds, faster even. And in doing so, the friction burns away clothing and eats away at my energy reserves, thus I'm hungry all the time. And right now, I'm starving. I think I ran a mile in the three seconds we had to get around the laser. But that's not important right, what's important is getting you too safety, which is going to be hard since I don't know where we are..." he said with a sigh, looking around at the untouched but unfamiliar buildings.

He couldn't believe that Xychus City was big enough so that you didn't even know every place inside of it, even though you'd lived on it for almost a whole year. Maybe he wasn't even in Xychus City anymore. He looked up at the tainted sky, watching the spaceships buzz like bees through the air, braving the electric tension that seemed to crackle around them. The air was alive with the hum of engines and the shrill cutting of wind. He glanced at the girl once more. How would he get her away? Caleb knew he couldn't run forever, and already he was on his last legs. What to do, what to do. Heroes, especially quicksilvers like him were supposed to be crafty, but no devious plan came to mind when his opponent was in space. Unless he learned the ability to fly in five seconds he was done for. Make that zero seconds. A loud BANG echoed out around him as he felt the earth give way beneath him. He felt the cold steel against his back, and reluctantly looked upward at what had fallen from the sky.

It was a spaceship. Well, not a spaceship. It had no windows, and a rectangle certainly was not an aerodynamic shape. It's four legs planted themselves in the ground and suddenly, a wall split apart, elongating into a step ladder that would cover him and the girl in a shadow. He immediately touched her hand, it was time to go all right. If he was right about what he thought it was then death was to come. Sure enough, the harsh, militaristic footsteps pounding on the step ladder told him that these were the aliens that were attacking Sigma. They spoke in a voice he didn't want to hear, and blotted it out, instead, he closed his eyes shut, willing them to disappear from existence, willing himself to be able to disappear. He hoped with all his might that God was watching him, and was going to send guardian angels to protect him against his foes. Praying a silent prayer, he crossed himself and stared at the girl, making a 'shh' motion.

As the command was given again, Rai felt he should follow this one instead. He sat up, then stood, causing pebbles and other amounts of rubble to fall away and clatter noisily to the floor, along with more than a little blood. Eyes dull, he started towards the lobby. Having been on the first floor to begin with, he got there quickly, his mouth set in it's normal straight line. He looked towards the Teroare that gave the order, following him. He would most likely not be seen, but, being emotionless, he didn't care or have a chance to.

--

After a while, Yin stumbled into the lobby, catching sight of Raimaru bloody and torn near the back of Jairus' group. She ran over to him, shivering uncontrollably. To comfort herself, she made an illusion of a cherry blossom, like the ones they'd had in their front yard on Earth. She clutched the shimmering light close to her chest, looking hysterical and totally wrecked.

--

Adailia heard the order again, and thought about barking back. "We gotta hurry," she huffed to Kaira. "Stay with me." She forced herself to keep a steady pace, so the other girl could keep up when she really just wanted to run as fast as she could out of this place. She stretched out her senses. "They're moving without us!" she hissed, panicking. Would she and her roommate be left to die in this place? "Hang on, and I'll get up down." she said, her voice wobbling. She stopped walking and threw her arms in front of her. A big block of rust-colored aura appeared, her despair manifesting into a two-ton block before her. It fell through the ceiling, which was weakening. She manipulated it so that it dissipated before hitting the bottom, so that no one would get crushed. Then she turned for Kaira, looking a bit tired but otherwise okay. If the other girl wanted to stay alive, and she follwoed her, they would jump down in this hole to the lobby and land on an aura block about half-way, so they wouldn't be injured.

OOC: The fail burns.

Dostaria closed her eyes as Caleb explained the situation. She felt a little out of place. Her? Needing to be delivered to safety? I can take care of myself, she though indignantly. But she knew that she probably couldn't. She felt weak, completely and utterly useless. But at least she was alive, thanks to Caleb. She couldn't help admiring him a little for saving her like that. Dostaria blushed deep red. She hadn't even noticed his nudity, not until he said something about his clothes burning away. She quickly averted her eyes to the burning oxygen around him. She stared for a moment at the several half-burned aliens fleeing for their lives before a strange, polygonal ship landed just meters away. She jumped as the wall opened to reveal a bunch of evil looking aliens. She backed up against Caleb, nodding as he motioned for her to be quiet.

Cosmas ran to the weapons vault, looking for the rangefinder. As he did so he thought he should take one of these weapons, currently he had one to fend off whatever demons would come to them. Then again, these weapons looked advanced and he didn't think anyone would appreciate it if he grabbed something he didn't know how to use and got them all killed. Anyways, there wasn't time for him to pick and choose. He grabbed the rngefinder and pocketed ample ammo for his gun. Cosmas sprinted out of the building and to Jairus, handing him the device. His gaze looked from his senior to the sky, seeing the ships with their shields up, blocking every attempt they could bring. It seemed like this day called for doom today, tomorrow, and forever.

Jairus turned to his partner and saw a few more humans trickle into the group. He grabbed the rangefinder from Cosmas and trained it upon one the million ships flying overhead. Frowning, he saw an UWUC fighter blown to smithereens by a laser. He continued to scan the sky, finally finding what he wanted. Small yet bulky ships were coming out of the attacker's battleships, and launching large rectangular boxes down all over the city. Unless those were very un-aerodynamic bombs, they had passengers inside. His invasion theory became confirmed. He put the rangefinder on his belt, which automatically magnetized the two together. He looked back at the apartments. The single military vehicle that had been parked there was now under a piece of debris that looked like a plane's wing. Jairus looked back at the group. "Okay people, I think we've got hostiles landing all over the city. I lost contact with central command, so we're on our own. We don't have any vehicles, unless I commandeer a civilian transport. My most recent orders are to protect you humans, so that's what I'm going to do. We have to get to Miralhnae as quickly as possible. Civvies, I can promise you that you will die if you do not do as I tell you. Time is vital, and we have several blocks to traverse. Cosmas, bring up the rear and mak sure no one falls behind. Now follow me!" Jairus turned around again broke off in a run towards the Miralhnae Spaceport.
--
Carter gasped for breath. The wall he had been blown into was pure steel. He sprang back on his legs, terrified of dying. He looked in every direction, hoping there was a friend or something without a gun nearby. There was no one...alive, that is. Carter suddenly heard a deep rumbling. What the heck? The noise quickly turned into a high-pitched whistling noise. He looked up just in time to see a gigantic rectangle falling from the sky, along with hundreds of others. But this one was almost on top of him. Carter fell back down and covered his head as if it protect him from being crushed to death. He closed his eyes tightly and waited to die. Just then, a nearby explosion shook the air around Carter. He opened his eyes just in time to see an UWUC fighter above the city swerve out of control. It's left wing hed been sheared off. The fighter went completely out of control and careened into the huge metal rectangle just a few hundred meters above Carter. There was a huge explosion, and the rectangle burst in two pieces. The plane was practically disintegrated. The force of the impact forced the pieces of the rectangle behind and away from Carter. He watched as huge gold and black creatures were sometimes torn from the inside of the rectangle. Terrified again, Carter got up and ran from the attackers as fast as he could.

"No, fuckin' way." said Lucas. These... aliens, weren't that alien to him at all. In fact, he had seen them multiple times on the news back on Earth. They dredged up stale memories. These freaks had interrupted his flight across Xychus, standing atop the hoverboard known as a Ichzer. His eyes half-closed and his face turned upside down with a frown. He looked at the group of five with a frown, what were they doing here? Were they trying to exterminate the human race once and for all. Though he hated to admit it, a pit of rage was forming inside of him. He swallowed down his sense of justice, returning back to his calm demeanor. "Now, lets not be too hasty here. We can talk this out right?" Diplomacy was the word of the day when facing five Evoknights armed to the teeth. Even their teeth were armed. These guys... Are something else. They shouted at him, in a muted voice. He frowned, reaching into his ear and pulling out tiny spheres that served as headphones, wireless of course.

"Sorry guys, what was that?" he cocked his head to the right slightly, smiling. Why was he smiling? Because it couldn't get any worse and he'd rather die happy then screaming like some frightened child. They raised their guns now, and what he guessed was the leader shouted at him, a command that could only mean fire. "Shit..." he growled, as the volley of red bolts flew at him, with the finesse of an expert on the Ichzer, he slammed the board onto the ground, ducking in low so to avoid the tall Evoknight's stray laser blasts. As he did so, he twisted the board, setting it into forward motion, while being wide enough to take out two Evoknight's legs, they toppled around him, they unsteadied his flight. Knocking into the head of another Evoknight who seemed completely unfazed by the surprise attack threw him off and to the ground, which he skidded across. Not the smartest move... he realized, his smile turning into a deadpan glare at the three Evoknights left.

Their training was spot on, as without, interruption they fired on him again. He scurried out of the way, diving beyond, what was it? It looked like a food stand. The bolts smashed into the cart, though Lucas pushing against it stopped it from crushing him. Looks like it was time to actually uses his power for once. He had never liked it. It made him seem like a freak that invaded your dreams. Why would he ever need that. But, now he saw at least some significance to it. He pivoted on his butt so that his feet were placed against the cart. Smashing both feet against it sent the cart skittering into the Evoknights.
The cart flew at the Evoknights, two dodged, one wasn't so lucky. But it distracted them enough so that Lucas could grab a hold of the Ichzer that had hit the ground when he had fell. He smashed his palm on a button on the side, and it flew at one of the Evoknights denting in its chest. One more to go.

It growled unintelligibly. This one was definitely not the leader, he was sure he had seen that one get smashed by the Ichzer, that lay nonoperational now. "Pipe down." corrected Lucas, flicking his hand at the creature before it could even lift its hand to fire the gun. The alien collapsed suddenly into a sleeping heap. "Bad dreams..." God, that line sucked... He snatched the gun from the ground aiming it at the Evoknight and firing only once. Did he have any remorse for this cold-blooded murder? No. That thing deserved it. He was just justice, delivering holy revenge. He dealt with the remainder in a similar way. He looked at the gun, its monstrous design frightened him. But leaving it was out of the question, he'd take what he could get at this point, all in the name of survival of course. He tested the gun in his hand, it weighed a ton and he could hardly hold it up. But, it was his only choice.

Almost from nowhere, he felt someone run past him. Startled, he attempted to heft the weapon and took aim at the creature. But no. It was just a human. A human? What was one of his kind doing in Southern Xychus, it wasn't the normal hangout spot, but he guessed anything could happen. The boy seemed to be running from something, he looked back, wondering what. "Hey! Kid. Wait a second!" he ordered, even though his command would most likely be ignored.

Space. It was endless. Black and brightly spotted. A minefield of meteors and a maze of planets. Artemis had seen only this for days, twiddling her thumbs, sharpening her knifes, and watching the expanse of nothing zoom past her. Her eyes burned, and she hadn’t slept for the past four days. She felt groggy, and she jumped when a beeping signified that she had almost reached her destination. Yes. Her destination. The fabled Sigma. Home of the endangered human race and shared by monsters. Aliens, if you will. She looked down at the Frost Stone, wrapped in blue satin and housed in a white leather pouch. Could it honestly hold the key to saving the Emmuness bloodline? She cocked her head, and the beeping grew louder, until it was deafening. The ship came to a jarring halt, just twenty yards away from another. In fact, she was twenty yards away from at least five. Warships. They were positioned in a line, and Artemis immediately sensed what was happening. She only had a first-time view of the planet, because seconds later, the colored lights were building in the ships interior, and the rays were penetrating the atmosphere, melting it effortlessly. They were attacking. And the planet didn’t seem to stand much of a chance. She knew the type. They were a threat to many planets in the galaxy.

Fireworks of flames erupted on the surface and Artemis became aware of the warlock’s well-being. How was she supposed to see him if he was obliterated in the process? Damned aliens. More ships arrived, carrying soldiers, and the Emmuness pressed a round button on her machine console, causing the whole of the stream-lined ship to disappear. She maneuvered it through the bulky alien invaders, and took a deep breath. With that, she launched herself into the fray, skillfully jerking herself out of the way of the lasers, coming out of fire range and into the Sigma sky. She shoved a few weapons into her black, loose-fitting pants. For later. Or sooner. Either or. She strapped on a bungee jacket, undid the hatch leading to the ground, and jumped. Her black hair billowed out behind her. Careening through the air. The ground caught up on her fast, and just moments before she went splat, the cord of elasticity jolted her to a shaky stop, undoing itself and setting her down, lightly, on the floor.

It looked about as pretty as it did from space. Molten. Panic. She calculated chance of survival. Roughly 13%. She had landed in a decent-sized city, already looking ravaged, and somewhere near a large building. Artemis saw no life, human or not. She stuck to the shadows, and moved silently, as quiet as a stalking panther. She halted as a troop of ground soldiers patrolled, and turned to see three standing ten feet behind her, guns pointed. Evoknights. Formidable and impeccably soundless. She didn’t hesitate, and, in two seconds flat, she had grasped a ninja star and had chucked it into the face of one of the aliens. It dropped dead. The remaining two charged her, and she sidestepped, twisting and landing a perfectly executed kick to its shoulder. It lost its balance just as Artemis catapulted backwards, rolling a specialized explosive in their general direction. A slight ping and no Knights stood. Parts of armor bled onto the dirt floor.

Artemis hadn’t broken a sweat. She had managed to shake away all sense of grogginess, and was focused on finding…someone. She immediately felt resent- even hatred- for the Evoknights. Her mission was nearly complete, and yet they picked this planet to destroy. But what was she doing? Being angry only clouded her judgment. She returned to controlled calm and in turn her tuned ears picked up the voice of a being. She flocked towards the sound, rounding a corner and starting, curious in every way possible. Human? Male, obviously. Strange…brown hair…no markings…mismatched features…How odd. Artemis watched as he used what looked like a magic trick. The Evoknight dropped to unconsciousness with just a flick of his hand. He was holding his own- though she could certainly take him- and she didn’t once consider helping him. By the time all five were stone cold, she was scolding herself for being in the open. Artemis hesitantly stepped forwards, skin unaffected by the cold, intense eyes guarded, and murmured, keeping a hand on her frozen ice blade.

“Human, are you not?”

ooc- Oh, yeah, and Raevyn will be posted with later....Or soon. Or something.

Carter stopped running and whirled around at the kid. "Are you kidding me!? Shit's falling from the sky, shit's coming out of the ground, shit's blasting shit all over the damn place, and you're telling me to wait a goddamn second!?" His voice was laced with panic. Then his eyes fell upon the five unmoving Evoknights. His panic gave way to a feeling of stupidity. "Eh..." Carter walked over to one of the foreigner's guns and picked it up. If there was one thing he was good at, it was aiming a gun. But this thing was much different than guns he was used to. He was extremely heavy, and he couldn't find any aiming sights. He nervously tapped his foot against one of the dead gold-plated hulks. Nothing happened. "Looks like you know what you're doing." Carter muttered. He felt like an idiot, panicking like a 5-year old. "Mind if I tag along?" Then he heard a strange voice behind him. Carter jumped around, looking at something he had never seen before. It resembled a girl, but with strange black hair and very pale skin. Carter raised his gun and trained it on her head.

--

Jairus was leading his group of civilians down the middle of a road. He was crouched, gun at the ready, checking every shadow, every corner, and every window, while keeping an eye on the sky. He had been trained to do this, and taught to stay in the middle of the road. He relayed this to everyone he was guarding. Staying near a wall is bad, for ballistic weapons ricochet off walls and other weapons can splash molten wall on you. But there was enough debris in the road for minor cover. Jairus led his 'team' hurriedly, inch by inch, block by block.

--

Being Militarized Operations Commander of the most powerful organization in the universe becomes a very difficult task when, suddenly, you aren't the most powerful organization. MOC Taio Kurovichi watched unhappily at a 3-D Hologram. It pictured most of Xychus city, including the three invading starships. His yellowish eyes flicked back and forth along the hologram. The invaders were destroying ship after ship after ship with ease. The remaining UWUC and Galaxior ships had tabs on them, stating their name and armor strength. Intercepter and bomber lances were also tabbed...and getting massacred. But that wasn't the worst part. There was a control panel that stated the well-being of all the humans. Several humans, like Kenji Silvano and Agamemnon Frasier, had red lights next to them. Red meant unknown. Others had green lights....and then, there were the black lights. Tristan Price had a black light. He was dead. The sensors that relayed this information was in the humans' blood streams. Each and every dead human was lowering the human race's chances of survival.

Kuro focused on the battle once more. He said nothing. There was nothing to say. Magma was coming out of the ground, and UWUC's military was being decimated. Sigma civilians were being massacred. His other officers were currently communicating with capital ship commanders and Galaxiors. Kurovichi trusted them enough to do that. He turned to an officer currently without a task. "Major Hvar, highlight the spaceports with large amounts of military vessels." Kuro spoke with his regular calm, slow voice. The Major briskly complied. "We have three spaceports with several ships. Lots of other spaceports have one or two." The hologram changed to an orthographic view and zoomed in just enough to make the invaders' ships disappear. Three spaceports glowed red, battling the rest of the hologram's bright blue. The Major continued. "Miralhnae spaceport, Senliejint spaceport, and Revfre spaceport have been highlighted, sir." Tabs popped up on the thirteen ships currently stationed. Miralhnae had four, Senliejint had six, and Revfre had three. Miralhnae and Revfre were rather close together. A laser barrage in that area would be devastating. Kurovichi eyed the two spaceports, looking for a few certain ships. He quickly found them.

UCAV Iroquois and its sister ship, UCAV Commonwealth were still stationed at Miralhnae. That meant the human's guardians were somewhere in the city. With the Iroquois and Commonwealth were two other ships, the destroyer UCAV Aeon and UEV Darkstar. Kuro frowned. "Show me Miralhnae's military population." The Major briskly obliged again. A tab with the number '879' appeared. The Major read off a screen in front of him. "All ships are populated and accounted for. They are awaiting explicit instructions to leave on the behalf of Lieutenant Colonel Jairus Cavaco." The Major looked up for a second. Kurovichi's mood heightened slightly. Maybe the humans had a chance. "And what about Revfre?" he asked. It was a possibility that the humans would be taken there. The Major looked back to his screen. "There are six ships. Four destroyers, one heavy, and two frigates. Destroyers are the Ultimus, the Seraphim, the Verona, and the Advent. Frigates are the UCAV Vasari and UEV Chastice. The Seraphim is currently out of commission. Military population is 881. They are awaiting explicit instructions to leave on behalf of Lieutenant Colonel Zaakev...who is currently KIA." The Major looked up again, his face looking alarmed. Kuro just nodded. "Keep them at Revfre for now. They might be needed later..."

Fennris looked at the sky before him. The end of the world, and he was witnessing it. And not with the bravery or nobility which he would have liked either. He was scared, more scared than he'd ever been in his life. He wanted to scream but no sound came, he was breathless when the wave of destruction reached him. Somehow, something made him use his power. It was like he was being possessed by his own need for survival. He brought a shield in front of himself, hopefully the gravitational barrier he had just made would keep the fire away. It did; for a moment. Then it was broken like so many other things had just been. Shards of restrained particles broke free and swamped him. The fire came soon after, completely engulfing him.
ooc: Shhhhhh this post is now a mystery

Adailia pulled at Kaira's hand, then started towards the group, tensing her muscles automatically. If any trouble came, then she could throw up a quick shield... Her mind ached at the thought of using so much power at once, her stomach roiling. She swallowed thickly, putting on a brave facade. She didn't want anyone else to die, not like Fennris and so many others had. She'd just been walking by him when the poor lad was killed by laser. Thank God the others are okay... They think they've got it bad, being on a water-sodden stone? We've got Hell. she thought, grimacing and following Jairus.

Yin hurried forwards, managing to cling close to Raimaru's side. The boy looked over at her;there was no apology in his eyes. "Tell me why you left me there!" she whispered fiercely, her fear reflecting in her voice.

--

Rai's silver eyes blanked. "Because he told me to," he said flatly.

((Eh...))
